There is something magical about where we live this time of year. We still have the lingering summer heat during the day–yet as the sun sets and night falls, the scent of fall abounds. The smell of grapes, apples, and hay fill the air–making me want to fill me lungs like a bursting balloon. If I could bottle up the magical scents that waif through the air on these cool not-quite-summer & not-quite-fall nights, I would line my shelves.These smells trigger within me something that says it’s almost time–time to bring forth all things autumn: pumpkins, gourds, mums, harvest colored table runners, caramel apple cider. It’s a time for family and football, for eating soul satisfying foods that are slow roasted and heart warming.It’s also a time for some of my favorite things, which I’ve compiled below.
