Few days in life are as memorable as when you find out the gender of your yet-to-be-born baby. It is even more exciting this time, as Schaeffer is bursting-at-the-seams-excited!

For our family, the pure joy and anticipation of finding out the gender is always slightly overshadowed by the nervousness that accompanies that ‘anatomy’ portion of the ultrasound.

Because of the medication I take for epilepsy, our baby is at a heightened risk for some significant birth defects. Little puts your mind at ease like seeing the wiggling fingers and toes on the screen, and hearing the ultra-sound tech say everything looks healthy.

Join us in praying that our little he or she would be healthy–and if baby isn’t, that we’d be prepared and trust God with the news.

P.S. The vote is overwhelmingly team BLUE. An update later today!
